Palette-Cleansing Pink: It’s Cherry Blossom Season in Spring Beauty

Pastels dominated on the Spring 2018 runways, with candy-colored shades worn head to toe, and with ultra-flattering hair and makeup.  While winter’s deeper tones, graphic lines and edgy hair suit cooler temperatures and a darker color palette in fashion, spring is the right time to lighten things up and soften your look, without being saccharine sweet or overly conservative.

For a more fashion forward look choose pinks and roses that are brighter, heavily pigmented, and with a matte finish.  Try a graphic liner on your eyes, or a bright pink lip.

Look for shades that are closer to your skin’s natural flush for everyday makeup, and go for softer rose tones with a more dewy finish.

Both looks suit natural waves and easy/messy updos that aren’t severe or slick.  Truly a breath of fresh air and just what we need as a palette cleanser after winter.

Vinyl Lip - Shine on with the Hottest New Lip

One of the most statement-making lips from the latest runway collections is the vibrant vinyl lip in electric shades.  Not to be confused with lip gloss, lip vinyl is highly pigmented, and less goopy and sticky.  The shades range from the palest to the darkest colors, and have a rich depth.

This modern take on a solid color matte lip can work with any complexion, and depending on the shade can work boldly on its own, or more subdued with an interesting graphic eye makeup.

This new trend isn't just for the makeup obsessed who want to rock a new look, as it can be worn in any shade you would normally wear whether that's a pale or a strong lip.  It's the texture and luster that is key.  The shiny finish gives dimension to the deep pigment, creating a luscious lip that is versatile and modern.

Rose Ceremony - Ultra-Feminine Beauty

Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to get a head start on spring beauty and fashion which offers up gorgeous, fresh, sexy alternatives to the expected red lips, stilettos and body-con dresses, so get a jump on warmer days ahead with glowing beauty and flowing, sensual style.

This year’s best feminine fashion conjures up adjectives like floating, draping, dreamy, and soft.  Erogenous zones become shoulders, backs, wrists, knees, and necks, with fashion that skims over the body without a hint of cling.

One of this year's most pretty beauty trends is rose toned makeup that warms the complexion and adds a youthful glow to skin as if spring had already arrived.  If you are pale skinned, look for colors that have blue undertones and products that are not overly pigmented which would overwhelm. Olive skin suits a slightly deeper rose palette that has warm undertones but doesn’t look too peach.  Darker skin looks amazing with a highly pigmented bright pink palette that pops, or plum tones that give a soft glow.

Roses aren’t just for Valentine’s Day, and ultra-feminine style doesn’t have to be saccharine-sweet in order to be sultry and sensual.  Don’t forget to take pictures – you won’t regret this fashion statement later.  Happy Valentine’s Day Gorgeous!
