Boho-lux Chic for Instagram-worthy Getaway Style

It’s that time of year when your mind and body are crying out for warm breezes, sunshine, and bare skin absorbing much-needed vitamin D.  I’m looking for sand, sun, and palm trees, where the only winter blues are the azur colors of water and cloudless skies.

The shops are filling up with spring fashion giving us a tempting hint of summer to come and an enticing jumpstart on warm-weather dressing for a winter getaway.  It’s a hard fact that by the time you can actually wear summer fashion at home, the stores will already be stocking fall wear, so the time is now to start planning out your summer wardrobe.

No matter your vacation style goals, the resort and spring collections are full of lux-boho influences, with pieces that were right on trend while being classic at the same time.

Look for folkloric details like embroidery, lace, and crochet on pieces that float and move, and cutouts and draping that show off glowing body skin on legs, shoulders and décolletage.

Gladiator shoes and mirrored sunglasses are accessories legendary boho goddess Talitha Getty wore for her classic getaway chic that still inspires designers to this day.  These Instagram-ready styles will become your favorite pieces, not just for your winter getaway but from this coming summer.  Vacation, we are ready for you.

Model Crush Monday - Dutch Beauty Romee Strijd

Natural beauty Romee Strijd isn’t new to the modeling world, but at 21 years old she is breaking out to be one of 2017’s hottest models in the business.  At 5’11”with fresh girl-next-door looks along with a sexy-sporty body, Romee was an obvious choice for Victoria’s Secret, becoming an Angel in age 19, appearing in the catalogues and most notably in the VS runway show.

Approached by an agent at age 13, Romee was too shy to pursue a career in modeling, but by age 15 she had spent enough time streaming the Victoria’s Secret shows on her computer and practicing her own runway walk, that she was eager to give the business a try.  After two years of modeling, traveling and missing teenage life, she returned home to finish school.  After graduation she was back to work where she quickly caught the eye of designers and editors who cast her in the top shows and magazine editorials.  Timing is everything and a model has to be ready for the industry just as the industry has to be ready for her particular look.

Romee loves to work out and does weight training, cross training and barre classes with her fellow VS models.  Her love of fitness makes her a natural for Victoria’s Secrets VSX Sports line of athletic wear.  She proves that a healthy, fit body is far sexier than a rail thin figure in her recent Maxim magazine spread shot by the legendary Gilles Bensimon.

At just 21 years old, fresh, sexy, sporty Romee will be on the industry radar for years to come.

Rose Ceremony - Ultra-Feminine Beauty

Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to get a head start on spring beauty and fashion which offers up gorgeous, fresh, sexy alternatives to the expected red lips, stilettos and body-con dresses, so get a jump on warmer days ahead with glowing beauty and flowing, sensual style.

This year’s best feminine fashion conjures up adjectives like floating, draping, dreamy, and soft.  Erogenous zones become shoulders, backs, wrists, knees, and necks, with fashion that skims over the body without a hint of cling.

One of this year's most pretty beauty trends is rose toned makeup that warms the complexion and adds a youthful glow to skin as if spring had already arrived.  If you are pale skinned, look for colors that have blue undertones and products that are not overly pigmented which would overwhelm. Olive skin suits a slightly deeper rose palette that has warm undertones but doesn’t look too peach.  Darker skin looks amazing with a highly pigmented bright pink palette that pops, or plum tones that give a soft glow.

Roses aren’t just for Valentine’s Day, and ultra-feminine style doesn’t have to be saccharine-sweet in order to be sultry and sensual.  Don’t forget to take pictures – you won’t regret this fashion statement later.  Happy Valentine’s Day Gorgeous!
